Overshadowed By The Almighty

I was caught up in worship while leading worship at my church recently when suddenly I felt a ‘presence’ hovering over me. I could hardly breathe! I could and feel see ‘wings of glory’ stretched out over me!
They were not ordinary wings, like those of a bird. But they were ALIVE, BREATHING, FULL OF EVER-CHANGING colors and lights!
I was overwhelmed! I was literally knocked off my chair and onto the floor by the power of His of holiness! All I could do was prostrate myself before Him! I was speechless! I didn’t understand what had happened to me at the time but one thing I did know, it was glorious!
When the virgin Mary was visited by the angel Gabriel he proclaimed to her:
And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:35
The Greek definitions of ‘power’ and ‘overshadow’ are amazing! ‘Power’ is the Greek word ‘dunamis’ which is the word we get ‘dynamite’ from! It is the literally EXPLOSIVE miracle working power of God! It also means ‘the power and influence which belong to riches and wealth, and the power consisting and resting upon armies, power or hosts! Whew!
‘Overshadow’ is the Greek word ‘episkiazo’ which is anything BUT a passive verb! It implies a VIOLENT overtaking, for it means to THROW a shadow on, to ENVELOP in a shadow of glory and light, when darkness is INTERCEPTED by LIGHT! No wonder I was knocked off my chair and onto the floor!
Intercept means: to take, seize, or halt (someone or something on the way from one place to another); cut off from an intended destination: to intercept a messenger. Think of how exciting it is when your favorite football team suddenly intercepts a pass from the opposing, advancing opponent, and then runs for a touchdown!
In the book of Acts we are told that people were healed just by stepping into the shadow of Peter. However, was it his shadow that healed people, or Someone else’s shadow? Hmm…
Psalms 91:1 says ‘He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the SHADOW of the Almighty..
We can choose to live, to dwell, under His glorious shadow, to walk daily in the dunamis power that His spirit abiding in His glory cloud exudes! This is the very same Spirit that ‘hovered’ over the face of the earth at creation:
The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.3 Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:2-5
Oh how His spirit LOVES to cast His shadow on you! Oh How He loves to overtake, to envelop you in His luminous cloud glory and love! Oh how He wants to impregnate you with His dunamis power and love, and create order out of chaos!
Is there darkness in your life that needs to be ‘intercepted’ with light? Are there battles you’ve fought and fought in your own strength, and not been able to win?
simply come to Him, and worship under His wings of glory today! Let the power of the Almighty overshadow you!

A Message from Jesus to His Bride

Imagine this: You are on vacation in a simply gorgeous setting, and you purchase a postcard with a beautiful photograph of the paradise you are enjoying. You can hardly wait to send it to that special someone back home. You take it home, and excitedly write a message on the back: “Missing you, wish you were here…”
Did you know Jesus wishes the same for His bride? After He was resurrected from the dead He ascended to the Father, and was glorified with the glory and beauty He shared with His Father from before time began. He now sits at the Father’s right hand in glorious heavenly places! He has gone to prepare a place for us, His beloved bride! How he longs to show us this place, and for us to behold Him in ALL of His glory.
Father, I want those you gave me
To be with me, right where I am,
So they can see my glory, the splendor you gave me,
Having loved me
Long before there ever was a world.
Righteous Father, the world has never known you,
But I have known you, and these disciples know
That you sent me on this mission.
I have made your very being known to them—
Who you are and what you do—
And continue to make it known,
So that your love for me
Might be in them
Exactly as I am in them. John 17:24 (The Message)
In My Father’s house are many mansions if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:2
Beloved, do not stand afar off today. Come, draw near Him, and He will draw near to you. Come boldly with confidence before the throne of glory! He wants to show you His glory, and the riches of His grace! Not tomorrow, but today…even this very moment!
2 Corinthians 3:18 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Isaiah 60:2 But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.
Come into His presence, oh weary one, oh desperate one. His yoke is easy, His burden is light Come lean upon His breast, and cast your gaze upon Him. For as you gaze upon Him, He DELIGHTS in showing you His gory!
He is extending His scepter of grace, favor and authority to you today! He has made it so simple, we make it so hard…
He is missing you, precious and beloved of the Lord, and He wishes you were with Him, in the secret place, under His shadow, under His wings, beholding ALL of His glory!
